Product Manager for Scopus from 09/2009. With double-digit annual growth, Scopus is one of Elsevier’s fastest growing products by both revenue and usage. 80% of the world’s top ranked universities subscribe to Scopus and it is consistently rated as easier to use and more innovative than its closest competitors. As the lead for Scopus user-experience and tools initiatives, I work closely with all parts of Elsevier’s matrixed business and technology organizations. Select product development accomplishments include:

Product Manager for Collaboration Tools from 04/2008-09/2009

  • Created financial business case and business plan for a new professional networking and expert profiling product based on: development and testing of functional prototypes, extensive market and pricing research, and competitive analysis
  • Completed buy, build, or partner analysis that resulted in integration plans and negotiations with potential partner
  • “Find Reviewers” tool launched to all Elsevier editors was based on one of these prototypes
  • Successfully retired the social bookmarking and reference-management application 2collab.com

  • Advocated customer needs on the Agile team developing community and marketplace services
  • Overhauled customer support workflow to minimize issue resolution time
