My specialty and passion is designing relevant and usable networking and collaboration tools around content such as books, articles, and related metadata (citations, abstracts, bibliographic records, etc.).
I hold a MS in Library Science from the School of Information and Library Science at UNC-Chapel Hill and work as a Product Manager at Elsevier.
During my career, I have held roles in such varied institutions as a public library, academic libraries, a social OPAC vendor, a print-on-demand do-it-yourself publisher, and now a STM publisher.
Please feel free to contact me about speaking engagements related to my areas of expertise.
On a more personal level, I recently relocated to Amsterdam and organize The Amsterdam Expat Meetup Group. If you are in the area, please feel free to contact me or check out our events. I am also very lucky to be engaged to the lovely Danielle Latman.
Topics discussed include tagging, social software, intellectual freedom, online identity, Library 2.0, and scholarly publishing. To gain a deeper understanding of what I discuss, please visit the Highlights section. There you will find links to a variety of articles and blog posts. Thanks for visiting.
