		<description>April Fool's Day is a month and a half away. So that suggests this isn't a spoof but is an actual release from Lulu.com. And yet it is so wrong in so many ways.

Vanity publishing, which used to be a harmless was to sublimate the needs of a few neurotics who couldn't afford psychotherapy, has already, thanks to technical advances in production and the greed and cynicism of rudderless MBAs, become a tumor on the book industry. Now it's going to metastasize into every Borders store, and I'm afraid the patient will die.

This whole scheme is just a plot to redistribute wealth from the foolish to the greedy; it has nothing to do with books. It's pure flim-flam.</description>
